Celebrating togetherness

The most powerful thing about today's run had nothing to do with running.
Today I joined more than 31,000 participants at the ASICS Austrian Women's Run in Vienna's Prater. Some ran. Some walked. Some kept going despite injury and exhaustion. Along the route were children, partners, friends, and families cheering us on!
The energy was extraordinary, not because of medals or finish times, but because of what it represented:
Freedom. Solidarity. Togetherness
I ran for a dear friend who recently lost her spouse, and for everyone going through difficult times. It reminded me that resilience is rarely a solo act. We find the breath to keep going and the strength to do a little more every day.
What began in 1988 with 440 participants seeking the freedom to run has become something much bigger than a race. It is a reminder that when we move forward together, we change what feels possible.
Thank you, özlem önen and Irina Kisielowa, for your companionship, and to Österreichischer Frauenlauf GmbH!
