Out of Office

Last night I realised something: I have not set an out-of-office since August 2025.
A full year of always being reachable. Don't get me wrong, I love being connected to work, peers, family, and friends. But that realisation sat with me.
So this summer, I am doing something different: intentionally disconnecting for a short while. I need to resist the temptation to check back in again.
When I made this decision, I asked myself the obvious questions: Would I lose momentum? Would stepping back undo the effort I have put into building something meaningful here?
Then I realised I am probably not alone. So many of us feel the pressure to be always on: always producing, always responding, always staying informed.
But rest isn't the opposite of progress. It's what makes progress sustainable.
Taking the time to recharge gives us the chance to come back with more clarity, more creativity, more energy. That's good for people and for work!
So over the coming weeks, I'll post when something genuinely inspires me, and allow myself to switch off the rest of the time.
Momentum and results aren't built by never stopping. They're built by knowing when to pause.
How easy do you find it to switch off truly?
