I am glad to be back after my first three-week break since 2018. It took some coaxing from friends and my husband to unplug, and I am deeply grateful to my clients for giving me the space to do so.

I managed to step away from the constant stream of media as I had limited internet access. I hadn’t realised just how much it drains energy and focus. I highly recommend a digital pause now and then. It gave me the space to reflect on the last two and a half years since I set up PhilanthroPower: what I have achieved, what I have learned, and what has brought me the most joy.

I love what I do because I get to collaborate and engage in meaningful dialogue with philanthropists, visionary leaders, and practitioners tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges, from climate change to health and humanitarian crises. I hear their fears, hopes, and breakthroughs, and I am continually inspired by how they choose to view the world not as a maze of problems, but as a landscape of possibilities. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing their eyes light up as they move closer to achieving their dreams and knowing that I have contributed, even in a small way, to addressing the challenges our systems have created. I am fortunate to do this alongside an outstanding business partner and friend.

These experiences also allow me to share the lessons I have learned over decades, uncover bold initiatives, and form meaningful relationships often through gatherings like the Skoll World Forum (I hope to see you there in 2026!)These moments remind me that lasting impact is built on strong human relationships and shared hope.

In a world shaped by AI, climate disasters, global conflict, and growing human rights violations, I recognise the importance of waking up each day with clarity and resolve to contribute to building a better future for our children and future generations.

Did you take a pause during the summer? I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections. Drop me a line for a chat.
